Sorcerer Software EZread March, 1994
*****************************************************************************
EZread is a small, fast, text reading utility to be used at the DOS
prompt (command line). It represents an extension of the DOS "type"*
command, and offers greater flexibility and speed.
OPERATION:
Start EZread by typing at the command line (DOS prompt):
EZread <Enter>
You will then be prompted to enter the path and name of your text file.
You can also start EZread by typing the name of the file you wish to
view on the command line after EZread, as follows:
EZread C:\CONFIG.SYS
Once the text file is open for viewing, press <F1> if you need help. The
help box displays your options:
<Home> return to the beginning of the file
<Space> next page
<P> print a file
<L> change LPT ports for printing
<Tab> start a new file
<Enter> next page
You may also advance to the next page by pressing <Enter> or <Pg Dn>.
As EZread was designed to help you work faster, you may find it helpful
to rename EZREAD.COM to something shorter and easier to type. You could,
for example, use the DOS "rename" command as follows:
ren EZREAD.COM EZ.COM <Enter>
Now you can view a file by just typing:
EZ [path\filename] <Enter>
LIMITATIONS
This file was written to be used with text files, such as those files that
end in .txt, .doc, .prn, .asc, etc. EZread will display the contents of
non-text files on the screen, but not in a text fashion; it will just
display the underlying computer generated characters.
We have not yet found any software incompatibilities. Please read the
enclosed file "SIXPACK.DOC".
Thank you for supporting shareware!

*Why use this instead of the DOS "type" command? Because "type" just
scrolls right through files; you must enter an additional command line
parameter if you want it to pause. EZread not only pauses for you, it
lets you start over, lets you print out the text file, and is much
faster than "type".
